ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
St Paul’s School is seeking an experienced Manager of People & Culture to lead our Human Resources function and drive a positive workplace culture. Reporting to the Director of Business & Operations, this role is responsible for delivering strategic HR initiatives, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, and providing expert advice to leadership on all people-related matters.
The key focus areas of this role include:
Leading and implementing initiatives that enhance the employee experience and support organisational goals.
Managing recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
Overseeing performance management, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws and school policies.
Supporting leadership and managers in fostering a high-performing, engaged, and values-driven workforce.
Ensuring compliance with Blue Card screening, QCT registration, and other regulatory requirements.
The Manager of People & Culture is a key member of the Extended Leadership Team, working closely with senior leadership to shape a workplace culture that aligns with St Paul’s School’s values.

To be successful in this role, you will have the qualifications, skills, and experience to lead the People & Culture function at St Paul’s School.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
Proven experience in a generalist HR leadership role, ideally within a school or complex organisation.
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
Demonstrated ability to manage recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance obligations.
High-level skills in HR administration, policy development, and workforce planning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
Proficiency in HRIS & IT platforms (e.g., ELMO, TASS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
A strategic mindset, with the ability to drive cultural and organisational change.
A commitment to supporting the Anglican Ethos of St Paul’s School.
Desirable Experience & Skills:
Experience working in an educational environment or a similar industry.
Experience in HR compliance reporting (e.g., QCT, WGEA).
Familiarity with workforce planning and change management strategies.
Exposure to payroll processing (though not required).
