Job Description

Join our team as an Innovation Precinct Assistant. 

 

Are you passionate about technology, creativity and supporting students in an innovative learning environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and technologically proficient education assistant to join our Library and Innovation Precinct Team.  

 

As an Innovation Precinct Assistant, you’ll play a key role in inspiring students and staff by supporting them to explore and use technology and creative spaces. 

 

You will: 

  • Support students and staff in using virtual reality, 3D printers, drones, robotics, and digital technologies, for classes across all curriculum areas, before and after school, during lunch breaks, and for ongoing student projects. 
  • Assist students to access the makerspace and recording spaces, use materials and resources, and monitor the use of the space. 
  • Assist in running the eSports and Robotics extra-curricular clubs. 
  • Manage and assist students and staff in using a range of spaces across the Innovation Precinct.  
  • Help foster a culture of learning, creativity, and innovation. 

Work schedule  

  • Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm,  
  • Friday 8:00am – 2:30pm. 
  • Term-time only (38.6 weeks a year).

This position is classified as a School Officer Level 3 under The Queensland Anglican Schools Enterprise Agreement (2024).

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following skills, qualifications, and experience: 

  1. A certificate or diploma in Education Support, Library or Information Services or ICT, or be working towards a degree in library science or digital technology.  
  2. Experience working in an education setting in a flexible, collaborative space, such as a library or design or digital technologies setting. 
  3. Demonstrate working knowledge of ICT, robotics, audio visual, and virtual reality hardware, and software and/or a willingness to learn. 
  4. Experience working with and managing practical and technical resources and equipment. 
  5. Enthusiasm, initiative, and a keen interest in the role with the flexibility and the ability to adapt and operate effectively in a demanding and changing environment.
