ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
St Paul’s School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Teacher for a fixed-term position in Term 1, 2026, working with students in Years 7-9. In this role, you will work closely with the Curriculum Leader - Learning Support and other key stakeholders across St Paul's School. As a Learning Support Teacher, you will assist in identifying, assessing, supporting, monitoring and evaluating students' specific and diverse learning needs, in collaboration with other members of the St Paul's School community.
As a Learning Support Teacher, you will be responsible for the delivery of a holistic education, including;
Creation of a nurturing learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with curriculum, policies and practices
Effective planning, implementation and reviewing of learning programs;
Effective management of students in the classroom and wider school community;
Ensuring that the values and Anglican ethos of the School are upheld.

Desired Skills and Experience
ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Current full registration as a teacher in Queensland;
Postgraduate qualifications in Special Education are highly regarded;
Sound knowledge of and experience in NCCD policies and procedures;
Demonstrated knowledge of legislation and practices in regard to students with learning difficulties, disabilities and learning support needs;
Demonstrated experience in an inclusive education capacity;
Demonstrated ability to write appropriate and targeted student progress reports;
Demonstrated ability to select and use appropriately a wide range of teaching and learning strategies and develop and implement Individual Support Plans ;
The ability to utilise appropriate technologies to enhance teaching programs;
Knowledge and experience in working with a tailored curriculum;
The ability to work with students individually or in small groups;
Experience in developing classroom management strategies for students with challenging behaviours.
